What it is
An image editor for retouching, compositing and graphics, with layers, masks and a large plug-in ecosystem. The main code lives on GNOME's GitLab, and the star count here is from the GitHub mirror.
Good for
Photo editing and graphics work without a subscription.
The catch
It is not Photoshop. The interface works differently and some Photoshop features, such as certain AI tools and PSD edge cases, are missing or rougher.
